Welcome to the DCC
The Durban Chemicals Cluster (DCC) is a public private partnership (PPP) between the eThekwini Municipality and the chemical industry in Durban and the surrounding areas. The aim of the cluster is to support the competitiveness and development of the local chemicals manufacturing industry through establishing mutual competitive advantages and helping the industry overcome generic problems.
The DCC Section 21 Company operates according to a fixed business plan which aligns all activities with a set of goals common to the parties in the public-private partnership.

Key economic and social development challenges confronting the local economy have been identified and these include sustaining economic growth, skills development, employment creation, B-BBEE and enterprise development as well as innovation support. These challenges have been aligned with challenges confronting the local chemicals manfuacturing sector and grouped into three broad categories or programmes.
Each programme is directed by its own Technical Steering Committee (TSC) which is in turn overseen by the Executive Committee.
